We've all seen it before. Clouds that are perfectly clear, and then get thicker and thicker before suddenly rain, thunder and lightning emerge. So is it in life. God gives us warnings and indications that an event is about to take place.
The bible serves as the clouds in the sky, the "calm before the storm", providing principles to look out for. It should therefore come as no surprise when events take place, for they were accurately predicted thousands of years ago.
The more you use your quiet time to spend with God, the more inept you are at seeing the signs. For instance, when you feel a sense of peace about a decision and it lines up with the will of God and is consistent with biblical principles, you will know that it is safe to proceed. Likewise, if you feel an unction that there is danger ahead, and your actions do not line up with the will of God and they are actions that are inconsistent with biblical standards, you will know that it is time to adjust and go a different direction.
Be uplifted that as God's child, he is always looking out for your best interests and sends clouds, rain and sunshine to give you that wisdom.
No matter where we are in the world, we are all connected together. God gives us intuition to prompt us to pray and to let us know when something is amiss. Have you ever felt your gut go off at a time? Do not ignore or waste this precious gift from above. Use intuition as a muscle, and allow it to grow stronger as you gain wisdom.
Intuition is often loudest in the quietest of places. If you are in a busy place and you feel that something is "off", then that is the time to take a moment, pause and reflect. Think to yourself and pray, "Dear God, what are you trying to show me through this moment." If you can, remove yourself and meditate on God's word in the bible and pray to him for guidance and direction.
Remember that God gives us wisdom liberally and immediately when we ask for it. It is one of his guarantees to his children.
My readers and fans often ask me about my choice of titles for my books, in particular In Defense of Stillness. Stillness is the space between you and the world. It is the quiet place, the secret place where God abides in you. It is so essential that this sacred space is defended from the cares of this world.
I compiled In Defense of Stillness with that in mind. I was concerned about the overall "frenzy" of organizations asking, no begging for money on social media, television and the streets. People were struggling to do goodwill and good works throughout the earth, and it didn't make sense to me.
I hoped that by having possession of this compilation that they could take hold of true abundance: utter trust in God to direct their paths even when life doesn't make perfect sense. Having inner peace about this financial truth is something that cannot be valued in currency. That peace is stillness and having the knowledge of those financial scriptures can give you the peace of mind that you need to not panic in crises.
I do not claim to have all of the answers: but I believe that my faith does answer some dark and difficult questions. I do believe that the Holy Bible can be used as a code for financial peace.
That definition of financial peace can mean different things to different people. I do not propose to put God in a small box: our human brains can only know in part because his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. I imagine that one day when we meet our Maker that it will all make sense.
In the meantime, my focus is on the wealth that I already possess and utilizing those resources to do goodwill throughout the earth. In turn, I believe God will and continues to bless those acts of good fortune and well-being.
Today, as you live and bask in his goodness, cherish each moment and encourage yourself in the Lord. Embrace gratitude and count your blessings on this day.
