Colossians 1:18 “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
Financial Scripture is a Confession point on tithing previewed from Jae Magazine, covering the book of Colossians and excerpted from In Defense of Stillness by Jae Elizabeth, the world's largest scholastic compilation of full financial verses. It is so important to keep God first place in our lives. Tithing, which is the act of giving 10% of your income to ministry, is an act that demonstrates this. It demonstrates to the Lord that his ways are higher than our ways and that we trust and rely upon him for financial provision. Be encouraged to open up your hearts and minds and follow this principle. God’s word promises that he will open up the windows of heaven and pour you our a blessing that you do not have room enough to receive. Moreover, tithing places priority on helping the man of God, the poor, the widows, and immigrants, which is what it was put in place to do. Often times, we get caught up in our daily lives and it can be easy to overlook those in need. Tithing provides a safeguard so that churches and ministries have the financial capacity to sustain themselves and to do goodwill around the world for the less fortunate. Be encouraged to set aside your income and tithe. When you give cheerfully, you are giving unto the Lord. Comments are closed.
