God is faithful to restore all that has been lost or stolen because his will is done above as below.
The thief only comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus comes to give you life, and that more abundantly. That is why he didn’t hesitate for you to turn the cheek, go the extra mile, lend to, pray for, and bless your enemies.
He was essentially saying: “Listen, I am the God of more than enough. That person that did you wrong, that stole from you, is inconsequential compared to the life that I am giving you. Show him that you belong to me and that you are choosing my way of living by turning the other cheek. You don’t have to fight; you don’t have to battle in court: I am the way-shower, and I died to fight this battle, which isn’t of flesh and blood, but of principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Justice does have its place, when used in balance. But Jesus was essentially teaching that his life was so abundant that you could bless the enemy and pray for the person that just despitefully used you. You can turn to him and trust him to be your vindicator, for vengeance belongs to God.
Perhaps there have been many times that you have been pushed out of opportunities that clearly belonged to you. All you have to do is simply turned to the ruler of all the earth and pray that God would restore to you the years that the locusts have stolen. That is why he admonishes you that when pray, you stand and forgive others for their trespasses.
The blessing of God is so great that he will recompense you several times over if you just forgive and allow him to work in your heart. Be encouraged to let go of opportunities and tangible things, and trust God to be your source.
